It seemed like a problem with the hosting provider.<\/p>\n
Installing ‘Wordfence’ helped, as it detected some malicious files.<\/p>\n
It seems that the entry point for the hacker(s) was an old version of the ‘Contact Form’ plugin.<\/p>\n
After some cleanup, things appear to have gotten back to normal.<\/p>\n
The activity footprint\u00a0suggests that the main goal was to use our server for sending spam.<\/p>\n
